An update from the Alps!

An update from the Alps!

I hope you are all enjoying the last weeks of summer. It’s been a little while since we last reached out, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share an update from Plouf. I have been in Switzerland enjoying the wonderful nature. The crisp Alpine air and the lush mountains have been a refreshing change of pace, giving me a chance to recharge, reflect and find inspiration.

While on this Plouf working holiday, I’ve made time for walks every morning and afternoon. It’s a rhythm I love —unlike in London, where balancing work and physical activity is so tough. Here, you step out of your front door and you are instantly surrounded by fields and nature and there is a beautiful walk waiting for you whichever way you go.

Summertime is often a quieter period for small businesses, and this pause has given me valuable reflective time (made easier with being in the peace, quiet and serenity of the Alps) With this time to reflect, we’re now ready for an exciting autumn, but first let’s dive into what I have been doing in Switzerland!

We have been walking a lot! On all of our outings we try to walk along streams or rivers. The movement of water creates negative ions, which are believed to improve mood, boost energy, and enhance overall well-being. If we are lucky we find some beautiful pools for us to do a “Plouf”
and dip our legs in and splash our faces to cool down for an instant refreshing lift. The feeling is amazing because the water feels so pure and so cold, it immediately revitalises my senses.

One of the things I’ve loved most about the walks are the wooden benches scattered along the trails. Each one is thoughtfully placed with a lovely view in front of it, and every bench carries a plaque with a poem or a philosophical quote. It’s like an invitation to pause, reflect, and simply be present. One quote that particularly resonated with me is:

"My love for you is like a mountain stream, quiet, persistent, and continuous."

Being in this incredible vegetation is like being in a dream. Our time spent in this region, both in my childhood and my mother’s, inspired us to create our Alpine Forest body wash. We created this scent out of love for this region, capturing the crispness of dewy forests and the freshness of the Alpine fields in the mornings, scented with amazing fragrances and that’s what we wanted to share with you through this scent.

If you haven't yet tried our Alpine Forest scent, and these photos make you wish you could smell the lush greenery. We encourage you to give it a try. Now you know a bit more about the story behind the fragrance!

As I stay here until the end of August, I’ll be carrying these moments of peace and inspiration back to London with me. We look forward to sharing more soon.

Wishing you all the best, wherever you are, and I hope this update brings a touch of Alpine tranquility to your evening.

Love, Marina X
